![]() Pumpkin Seed Count 2007 October 31, 2007 We participated in this project through Technospud Projects. The purpose of this project was to estimate how many seeds were in our pumpkin. 184 classes from 26 of the United States and 2 Canadian provinces participated. Our pumpkin weighed between 3.5 and 4 lbs. and had 285 seeds. We predicted how many inches around (the diameter) our pumpkin was and then how many seeds it would have before we cut it open, cleaned it out, and counted the seeds. We counted the seeds by 2s, 5s, and 10s, and we all agreed that it was easier and faster to count them by 10s. Here is a slideshow of us and our pumpkin:
We had a lot of fun. Let's do this again next year!
