One warm Groundhog Day in Oceanside, California, Gracie Groundhog was munching on a carrot in the kitchen when she overheard her parents talking about her being adopted.  Right then and there, Gracie decided to search for her groundhog parents.

Gracie caught the next flight to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.  After she landed, she quickly went straight to the Groundhog Adoption Center.

At the Groundhog Adoption Center, Gracie met the famous Punxsutawney Phil.  She said, “I’m searching for my parents.”  Phil replied, “Right this way!  I know exactly where they are.”

Finally, Phil led Gracie to a burrow close by.  They entered the burrow, and down below were Gracie’s parents.  Phil said, “At last!  It’s your long lost daughter!”

They all cried and hugged each other.  Gracie said, “I’m delighted to meet you!”  Her parents answered, “We’ve missed you all these years.”  They spent the rest of the day chatting and sipping carrot juice.

Note:  No offense was intended to any adoptees, nor to any birth parents.
