We landed in Shanghai on June 25 and checked into our hotel,
the Holiday Inn Downtown Shanghai. See the blog for
details.
On Thursday, June 26, we met our guide, Susan, and set off
to tour Shanghai. Shanghai is the second largest city
in China, with a population of about 18 million people.

The next day we drove to Suzhou, about 100 km from Shanghai.
Suzhou is a city with a population of about 6 million
people. Suzhou is known for its beautiful gardens and
silk culture. Below is a slide show of our photos from

The next day we flew to Xi'an, the home of the Terracotta
Warriors. Because our flight was delayed 5 1/2 hours,
we first went to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda.
